Policeman killed on Khilgaon road

Police officer Md. Rubel Haque, who was riding a motorcycle, was killed after being hit by a covered van on the Khilgaon flyover in the capital. The accident occurred around 12 midnight on Wednesday (December 31). At that time, he was returning to his home in Nandipara after completing his duty. Rubel is the son of Md. Munsur Sardar and Jeleka Begum of Kandarpar area of ​​​​Sirajganj Sadar.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khilgaon Police Station Md. Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter and told us that the deceased Rubel was working in Rajarbagh. He died on the spot after being hit by a covered van on the Khilgaon flyover while returning to his home in Nandipara after completing his duty on a motorcycle. He also said that after the incident, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Later, the vehicle was seized and taken to the police station. Efforts are underway to arrest the driver.
