Police water cannons disperse sacked BDR members heading towards Jamuna
The police used water cannons and sound grenades to disperse sacked BDR members at the capital’s Kakrail intersection. Two BDR members were injured during the incident. They were marching towards the residence of the chief advisor on Jamuna with three demands. On Monday (July 7) afternoon, police stopped them at the Kakrail intersection while they were going towards Jamuna from Shahbagh in the capital. Later, when they tried to break the barricade, the police fired water cannons. The protesters have been holding a sit-in program in front of the museum in Shahbagh in the capital since morning. They said that they will continue the movement if their demands are not met. Then, the sacked BDR members set out from Shahbagh intersection towards Jamuna with a procession at around 12:15 pm. Senior police officials said that the DMP has banned any kind of meeting, rally, mass gathering, procession and procession in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Advisor, ‘Jamuna’. Despite this, they were dispersed as they marched towards Jamuna.
