Police SI shot with his own pistol

A police sub-inspector (SI) named Mamun Hossain was injured by his own official pistol in Natore. He is currently undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. The incident took place at his official residence in Natore Police Lines on Friday (February 27) evening. Upon receiving the news, senior police officials including Superintendent of Police Abdul Wahab rushed to see the injured police SI Mamun at the hospital. At that time, he inquired about the physical condition of the injured policeman.
Natore Additional Superintendent of Police Iftekhair Alam said, “Yesterday evening, after completing his duty, SI Mamun returned to his official residence in Police Lines. At that time, he left his official pistol on the bed and went to the bathroom. At that time, his younger son was playing with the pistol. At one point, the bullet inadvertently went out and SI Mamun was shot in the left leg. At that time, his colleagues rescued him and took him to Natore Modern Sadar Hospital. After primary treatment, he was transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for advanced treatment. Doctors were able to remove the bullet from his leg through surgery at night. He is now healthy. He said, “The accident happened accidentally. The police have started investigating the incident.”
