Police obstruct teachers’ march towards secretariat

The police obstructed the march of teachers towards the secretariat demanding that all recognized non-MPO educational institutions be included in the MPO. The teachers, who were protesting in front of the National Press Club for the second day, began their march towards the secretariat on Monday (November 3) afternoon.
When they tried to go towards the secretariat through the road next to the Press Club after turning around Paltan intersection, the police stopped them. There, the police and the teachers took a face-to-face position. The teachers are organizing this program under the banner of an organization called ‘Non-MPO Educational Institutions Oikya Parishad’.
Principal Munimul Haque, the organizational coordinator of the council, told the media at around 2:15 pm, ‘We will stay here for now. The police are requesting us to return to our sit-in program. We will return to the sit-in program after a while and the next program will be announced there.’
He said, “I urge the government to stop the unfair play of MPO policies and circulars and to include all non-MPO educational institutions in MPO. If that is not done, then we will achieve our demands through movement.”
