Police constable’s body recovered from Jatrabari outpost toilet
The body of a police constable named Shafiqul Islam (42) has been recovered from the toilet of the Jatrabari police outpost in the capital. Police recovered his body from the outpost washroom on Wednesday (January 28) morning. Colleagues suspect that he may have committed suicide due to mental problems and depression. The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy in the afternoon.
Shafiqul Islam joined the police force in 2003. According to police sources, before his death, he sent a short message to his elder daughter’s mobile phone at 3:25 am. In it, he wrote, “I could not do anything for you. Forgive me. Keep an eye on Junaid and Jihad.” After that, the daughter called him repeatedly, but he did not call.
