A police chase took place in front of Gate No. 1 of the Secretariat in the capital. Police fired two blank shots at this time. The incident took place at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses said that more than a hundred students took up a position in front of the National Press Club today, demanding a permanent campus for Prime Asia University and the resignation of the chairman of the Board of Trustees.
A four-member delegation of students went to the Secretariat from in front of the Press Club to meet the education advisor. However, at one stage, the police clashed with the students waiting outside. Later, the police charged the students with batons. They fired two blank shots to control the situation.
Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur told the media that the students of Prime Asia University were trying to enter the Secretariat. But the police stopped them. After a while, they left.
