PM’s view-sharing meeting calls for working to change the fate of the country’s people
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on the officials and employees to work to change the fate of the country’s people. He said, ‘We consider this country as our first and last destination. Therefore, we have to work to change the fate of the country’s people as well.’
After assuming office, Tarique Rahman exchanged views with the officials and employees of the Prime Minister’s Office for the first time on Saturday (February 28). The exchange of views held at the Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon this morning was attended by Prime Minister’s Advisor Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Md. Ismail Zabiullah, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Humayun Kabir, Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam, Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman and Mahdi Amin.
Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar delivered the welcome speech at the meeting. Later, Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office Mohammad Abdul Wadud Chowdhury made a presentation on the structure and functions of the office. Addressing the officials and employees at the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the people of Bangladesh are looking at the government with great expectations. Referring to the officials and employees as part of that government, she said that the government will do well only when you cooperate with the government.
Stating that every political party has a manifesto, Tarique Rahman said, ‘The people have voted in favor of implementing the election manifesto of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party through a fair election. Therefore, we have to work according to the promises of our manifesto.’ At this time, the Prime Minister sought the cooperation of government officials and employees in implementing all the agendas mentioned in the manifesto, including the health and education sectors, women’s education, employment and sports.
Tarique Rahman said, ‘The security of the people of the country must be ensured so that they feel safe. If we all work together, we will definitely be able to achieve this goal.’ He also expressed the hope that the officials and employees would also fully cooperate in eliminating corruption from the country.
During this time, the Prime Minister instructed the officials and employees to adhere to confidentiality issues in the interest of the country and the state. In addition, he emphasized on the strict adherence of the government rules and regulations by the employees of the republic to bring the nation to an orderly place. The heads of the departments and organizations under the Prime Minister’s Office, the officials and employees of the office were present in the exchange of views.
