Playing microphones after dusk is prohibited at Dhaka University.

Considering the problems of students, the administration has banned playing microphones in the TSC, halls and residential areas of Dhaka University (DU) after 6 pm.

An urgent notification sent by the proctor’s office at around 11 pm on Saturday (November 7) gave such instructions.

The notification said that it is being informed for the information of all concerned that loud speaker/mic/car horn playing is completely prohibited on the Dhaka University campus. In order to maintain the learning environment of students, no program using speakers/mics can be held in the TSC, Swaparjit Swadhinata Chattar, halls and residential areas after 6 pm.

Earlier, from 9 pm, the students of Shamsun Nahar and Rokeya Halls of the university, who have been suffering for a long time due to the sale of goods by miking in front of other residential halls, organized a unique protest. As a protest, they started playing loud sound boxes in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s residence.

Later, the proctor came and said that the students’ demands would be accepted. After some time, an announcement was made regarding this and the students returned to the hall at around 11:15 pm.
