Player dies while playing wrestling in Comilla

A player died while playing wrestling in Lalmai Upazila of Comilla. The incident took place on Tuesday (March 24) night in the field next to Mohanpur Madrasa in Bakai Uttar Union of the upazila. The deceased Helal Uddin Majumder is the son of the deceased Abul Kasem of Kayar village in Bakai Dakshin Union of Laksam Upazila.
His death was confirmed by the deceased’s cousin Arif Majumder. He said that the deceased Helal Uddin ran a grocery shop in Kayar Bazar. The former army member also played football at one time.
According to family sources, Helal Uddin suddenly fell ill while participating in a rural wrestling match organized locally. When the people present quickly took him to the local hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. It is believed that he died of a heart attack while playing.
