Plane with 176 on board catches fire in South Korea.
A passenger plane caught fire at Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea. Out of 176 people on board, 169 were passengers and seven cabin crew. There were no fatalities, but three were injured.
The fire broke out on Tuesday night local time. The British news agency Reuters reported this information, citing the country’s Yonhap news agency.
The fire broke out on an Air Busan plane waiting to take off from Gimhae International Airport in the southeastern city of Busan for Hong Kong. The passenger plane caught fire shortly before 10:30 p.m.
The Busan Fire Service said that everyone on board was able to disembark safely. However, three people were slightly injured.
Earlier, on December 29, a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok, Thailand, to South Korea with 181 passengers crashed. There were 175 passengers and six crew on that Jeju Air flight. It crashed while landing at Muan International Airport in South Korea, killing all 179 people on board.
