Plane skids off runway while landing at Mumbai airport
Another Air India flight has been in trouble. A passenger plane from Kochi in Kerala skidded off the runway while landing at Mumbai airport. It is initially believed that this happened due to heavy rain. The wheels and engine of the plane were badly damaged in the incident. However, the crew and passengers of the plane narrowly escaped with their lives. This information was reported by Indian media NDTV in a report on Monday (July 21). The media said that an Air India flight from Kochi skidded off the runway while landing due to heavy rain. The incident took place at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday morning. The airport authorities have confirmed that all the passengers are safe. Images obtained by NDTV show pieces of glass stuck to the rear of the plane and there are clear signs of damage to one of the engines. There were also reports of partial damage to the runway. The aircraft has been grounded and is currently undergoing technical checks. Mumbai airport authorities said that a flight from Kochi skidded off the runway at 9:27 am on July 21. Emergency management teams immediately reached the spot. All passengers and crew on board are safe.
