Pistols and bullets seized from Indian truck, two citizens fall in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized an air pistol and 93 rounds of air pellets from an Indian truck carrying green chillies at the Benapole land port in Jessore. Two Indian citizens have been arrested in this incident. They were arrested after searching the Indian truck at the main gate of the Benapole ICP in Jessore on Sunday (September 7) afternoon. The two arrested Indian citizens are Gurjit Saluja (31), a resident of Madhya Pradesh, India, and the truck’s helper Ram Das Nawadi (24). The BGB said that they searched the Indian truck about 10 yards inside Bangladesh from the main pillar 18/3S of the border. At that time, air pistols and bullets were recovered from the chilli truck. In this regard, Sohel Al Mujahid, Assistant Director of Jessore Jhumjhumpur BGB, said that the body of the truck driver was searched based on secret information. An air pistol and some bullets were seized during the search. Legal action will be taken against them after initial interrogation. He further said that attempts to bring weapons or such goods across international borders will not be tolerated. Legal action is being taken against the detainees.
