Pilot of crashed training plane dies
Flight Lieutenant Taukir Islam Sagar, the pilot of the crashed Air Force training plane in Uttara, the capital, has died. He died at Sammiliti Military Hospital (CMH) at around 3:45 pm on Monday (July 21). The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed this information. Earlier, the plane crashed on the grounds of Milestone School and College after taking off at 1:06 pm. The F-7 BJI model training plane crashed and 60 people have been taken to the burn unit so far. Apart from the pilot, three others were killed in the accident. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the pilot of the F-7 BJI training plane was Flight Lieutenant Taukir Islam Sagar. Mizanur Rahman, a teacher at the school, said that the plane crashed during recess and entered a building of the school. The plane immediately caught fire. Students, parents and officials and employees started running in panic. 8 units of the Fire Service and members of the army are working at the scene. In the meantime, 2 platoons of the BGB and the Navy have joined the rescue operation and law and order at the accident site. The casualties are being rescued and taken to CMH by helicopter.
