Peoples Insurance Company Ltd. 440’th Board Meeting Held: Review Business Activities and Setting Up Annual Targets.
The 440th meeting of the Board of Directors of Peoples Insurance Company Limited was held on Saturday, December 21, at PHP Family Farm House, Bhatiari, Chittagong. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Company Mr. Zafar Ahmed Patwari, and Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, former successful Chairman and entrepreneur of the Company, prominent industrialist and founding Chairman of the PHP Family, was present as an invited guest. It considered a review of the business activities for the past year ended 2024 and the statements of the Chairman of the various sub-committees of the Board on the annual work plan, targets, budget, etc. for the Year 2025. In addition, important discussions and steps were taken on further growth in the business, swift settlement of insurance claims, and risk control.
Prominent industrialist and PHP family founding Chairman Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman in a short speech reminisced about the company’s memories and said this insurance company was born for the welfare of the country. The People’s Insurance was born in view of importing products as long as the country’s need. He said, ‘Today this company, built through hard work, is also blessed with the name of the country. May everyone work from their respective positions for the welfare of the company.’.
Among others, there were present the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Mohammad Anwarul Haque; Directors and Former Chairman Mr. Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury and Mr. Mohammad Ali Hossain; Directors, Mr. Kabir Ahmed, Mr. Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Patwari, Mr. Md. Azizul Haque and Mrs. Jotsna Ara Begum; Independent Directors, Mr. Shobit Bikash Bara-ya FCMA, Mr. Dilshad Ahmed and Mr. M.M.G. Sarwar, among others. The meeting was attended by former Director Mohammad Shamsul Alam and former Chairman Mohammad Abul Bashar Mukul. Advisor Mr. M. H. Khaled, Chief Executive Officer Mr. S. M. Azizul Hossain, CFO Mr. Abdullah-Al-Mobin, Company Secretary Mr. Sarfaraz Hossain FCS were present in the meeting.
Director and former Chairman Mr. Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury said, “People’s Insurance Company Limited is a well-named institution in this country and has a tradition. We are proud of this institution.” Director and former Chairman Mr. Mohammad Ali Hossain welcomed all the guests with a welcome speech; he said, “Insurances are the prerequisite of any business in Bangladesh. They will provide financial protection if there is an unexpected occurrence of an event. In his speech, he was grateful to all the invitees for their presence.
After lunch, the prayer led by the company’s main attraction, Mr. Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, and an important speech to all the directors and officers was delivered, which all liked.
