People think Jamaat alliance was defeated through planned mechanism: Mia Golam Parwar
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has said that people think Jamaat alliance was defeated due to mechanism and manipulation. He said that the people’s perception has become deeper with the publication of the gazette on the night after the election. He said these things while addressing a workers’ rally in Khulna’s Fultala today (February 15) as the chief guest.
Terming the election as a conspiracy, Golam Parwar said, “It is true that the people voted for change, but election-related conspiracies have been going on in our country for a long time. You have learned from the media that the electoral alliance of 11 parties, including our Ameer-e-Jamaat, has made specific complaints about 32 EC seats. However, our party has made a lot of progress in the vote percentage despite getting fewer seats. Although the elected party BNP got more than two hundred seats, we were only 2.7% behind in the vote percentage.
Referring to the post-election violence, he said, “I thought everyone would come out of this culture after the coup. But after the election, we saw attacks on our workers and supporters and houses being set on fire across the country. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will look into these issues and stop the incident. But BNP leaders and workers have not stopped yet. We are calling on everyone to be patient.” However, if the situation is not stopped, we will be forced to take to the streets along with the people.”
