Pedestrian killed in Jhenaidah hit by truck

A pedestrian named Pari Begum (55) was killed in a truck hit by a truck in Jhenaidah’s Goyal Para Bazar. The incident occurred at around 6 pm on Wednesday (December 31). The deceased Pari Begum is the wife of Sabur Mia of Khajura village in Jhenaidah Municipality.
Police and locals said that the deceased Pari Begum had gone from Jhenaidah town to Goyal Para Bazar at 6 pm yesterday to go to her daughter’s Panami village in Jhenaidah Sadar. At that time, when she was crossing the road to buy sweets, a Jhenaidah-bound truck ran over her and sped away.
At that time, locals rescued her and took her to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared her dead. Jhenaidah Arappur Highway Police Station OC Mrityunjoy Biswas said that the body has been sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Efforts are underway to arrest the killer truck and driver, and a case is under process in this incident.
