Panchagarh records country’s lowest temperature for 5 consecutive days

Despite the bright sunshine during the day, moderate cold wave is still blowing in Panchagarh, the northernmost district of the country. The intensity of winter has not yet completely subsided due to the icy winds coming from the north. Despite the morning sunshine, the cold wind is clearly affecting public life.
The lowest temperature recorded at Tentulia Meteorological Office in Panchagarh today (January 13) at 9 am today, Tuesday (January 13). This is the lowest temperature record in the country today. At that time, the humidity was 91 percent and the wind speed was 8 to 10 kilometers per hour. The lowest temperature has been recorded in this district for 5 consecutive days.
Earlier, the lowest temperature in Tentulia was 8.4 degrees Celsius at 9 am yesterday, Monday (January 12). That day, the humidity was 92 percent and the maximum temperature of the day rose to 28 degrees Celsius. Last Sunday (January 11), the temperature dropped to 7.3 degrees Celsius, on Saturday (January 10) it was 8.3 degrees and on Friday (January 9) the lowest temperature of the current winter season was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius. As a result, the country’s lowest temperature has been recorded in Tentulia for five consecutive days.
According to the Meteorological Office, the temperature has been gradually decreasing due to rain-like fog for the last few days and as a result, the intensity of the winter has increased. It was seen in the morning that people are not leaving their homes except for urgent needs due to the severe cold. However, although sunlight is visible as the day progresses, it is not very hot. Due to the severe cold, people are keeping themselves warm by lighting fires at various intersections and near tea shops in the morning and evening. The number of cold-related patients in hospitals is also increasing. Children and the elderly are especially affected.
Jitendranath Roy, officer-in-charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, said that the temperature in Tentulia has been fluctuating for the last few days. The country’s lowest temperature was recorded in Tentulia today. This wintery situation is likely to continue for the next few days.
