Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Injured After Slip
Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt are meeting in the Pakistani capital Islamabad to discuss how to stop Iran’s ongoing war against Israel and the US. Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar suffered a ‘hairline fracture’ in his shoulder after slipping while welcoming the Egyptian foreign minister in the capital Islamabad.
His son Ali Dar confirmed the information on social media late last night (March 29). A video of the Pakistani foreign minister falling during a diplomatic reception has gone viral on social media.
The video clip shows Dar losing his balance and falling to the ground while moving forward to welcome the visiting dignitary. Nearby security personnel immediately helped him. Authorities later said that Ishaq Dar suffered a minor injury to his shoulder as a result of the fall, but he continued with the meeting as scheduled.
Ishaq Dar had no signs of injury on his body. But his son Ali Dar said that he had taken painkillers to ease the discomfort and agreed to undergo a late-night medical examination.
Ali Dar said on social media, “Despite being injured in a meeting with the Egyptian foreign minister yesterday, Ishaq Dar completed all the important meetings of the day as well as possible with the help of painkillers, Alhamdulillah.” He added that a medical examination was conducted at the request of the family after recording the official statement around 9pm. He said, Alhamdulillah, his X-ray report came out positive overall. He had a minor fracture in his shoulder. His pain will be managed with medication and other precautions over the next few days.
The unfortunate incident came at a time when a crucial quadrilateral meeting involving the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt is being held to end the Gulf war.
