Pakistan’s flood situation is getting worse. A very high alert has been issued in Punjab province. Meanwhile, India has opened all the dams of three rivers in Kashmir. As a result, there are fears of more major floods. The army has already been deployed in the flooded areas. Along with other forces, many voluntary organizations have joined the rescue efforts. According to the latest information, more than two lakh citizens have been evacuated to safe places. More than 1.5 lakh people have been affected by the floods. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Punjab and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir in the next 12 to 24 hours. Meanwhile, Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir has also been devastated by heavy rains. At least 41 people have been reported to have died in the region in the past 24 hours. The water of several rivers including Chenab, Jhelum and others is still flowing above the danger level. The highest rainfall has been recorded in the last 24 hours.
