Opposition party walks out of parliament
On the sixth day of the first session of the 13th National Parliament, the Jamaat-led opposition party walked out. Today, Wednesday (April 1), opposition party members including Jamaat-e-Islami and National Citizens Party (NCP) walked out at around 5:30 pm.
It is learned that despite a long discussion in parliament on convening the session of the Constitutional Reforms Council, the issue was not resolved. Opposition party members left the session room in protest.
The first session of the 13th National Parliament began on March 12. Opposition party members walked out on the first day, rejecting the President’s address. Apart from this, today is the first time that opposition party members walked out on any issue in parliament.
