Opening statement to begin today in Kushtia 6 murder case

The opening statement against Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif and four others in the case of crimes against humanity including 6 murders in Kushtia will be presented today. The first witness is also scheduled to testify at the same time.
The prosecution will present this statement before a three-member judicial panel led by International Crimes Tribunal-2 Chairman Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury on Tuesday (November 25). The opening statement will highlight the background of the case and various important information. On November 2 of this year, Tribunal-2 ordered the trial to begin by framing formal charges against Hanif and four others.
Apart from Hanif, the other three accused are Kushtia District Awami League President Sadar Uddin Khan, District General Secretary Azgar Ali and City Awami League General Secretary Ataur Rahman Ata. Meanwhile, Tribunal-1 will also take testimony today in the crimes against humanity case involving the shooting death of Amir Hossain, who was hanging from a cornice in Rampura, and the killing of two others.
