    One dead in Ashulia fire

    A person named Shiuli Akter (32) has died in a fire incident in Ashulia, Savar. He died while undergoing treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

    He died at around 3:25 am on Saturday.

    Confirming the truth, Shaon Bin Rahman, resident physician at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, said, “95% of his body was burned.”

    Incidentally, a gas cylinder exploded while making pitha on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat in Ashulia, Savar, injuring 11 people, including women and children. The explosion occurred last Friday night.

    All of them were admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute that night.

    Hospital authorities said that the condition of 2 of the burned people is still critical. Meanwhile, resident physician of the Burn Institute, Shaon Bin Rahman, confirmed the matter and said, “The burn victims are being treated in the emergency department.”

    The other burn victims are Sumon Mia (30), Surya Banu (55), Zahura Begum (70), Md. Monir Hossain (43), Sohel (38), Sharmin (25), Chamin Mahmud (15), Mahadi (07), Swaed (04) and Suraha (03).
