    Officials and employees awaiting entry into the Secretariat.

    Army, BGB and police have taken position in front of the Secretariat building number one. Due to fire law enforcement agencies are not letting anyone enter the Secretariat from morning.

    The officials and employees working in front of the Secretariat gate are waiting because of that. Many officials are standing in front of the gate since morning due to fire.

    Officials were seen gathering in front of the Secretariat until 8:45 am today, Thursday.

    Earlier, 18 units of the Fire Service tried for 6 hours to bring the Secretariat fire under control. In this regard, the Fire Service officials said that the fire was brought under control at 8:05 am.

    Meanwhile, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Housing and Public Works and Industries Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan have visited the scene.

    It is important to state here that a report regarding fire in building number 7 of the Secretariat at 1:52 am, on Wednesday, reached the Fire Service unit. After some minutes, that is around 1:54 am, the work related to controlling the fire began as part of the initial operation. Eventually, when the sudden bursting in intensity of fire happens, 18 units that arrive in stages began this process of controlling fire.

    The building number 7 of the nine-storey Secretariat extends in an east-west direction. It caught fire from either side right up to the middle part.

    From Abdul Gani Road outside the Secretariat, the fire has been seen in some parts of the 8th and 9th floors on the western side of the building. Again, 8th and 9th floors in the middle and some parts of 7th, 8th and 9th floors on the eastern side have been burnt.
