Nuclear weapons are the only hope to counter US threats: North Korea
North Korea’s permanent mission to the United Nations has said that the country’s status as a nuclear-weapon state is ‘irreversible’. North Korea’s state news agency KCNA said on Monday (September 15) that it rejected US demands for denuclearization. According to a report by the British news agency Reuters, the UN office in Vienna and international organizations have been informed that North Korea’s nuclear status is permanently determined by the supreme law of the state and is now irreversible. Pyongyang has criticized US pressure as ‘provocative’ and interference in its internal affairs. It has said that nuclear weapons are an ‘inevitable option’ to defend the country from US nuclear threats.
