No possibility of fake votes in CHAKSU: CU Vice-Chancellor
Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Yahia Akhtar has said that there is no possibility of fake votes in the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CHAKSU) elections.
He told reporters after visiting the IT Bhaban center at 10 am today (October 15) on Wednesday.
The Vice-Chancellor said, “The presiding officer has the voter list with photos. They are comparing it. There is no possibility of fake votes in any way.”
Stating that the voting is taking place in a festive atmosphere, he said that the candidates are hugging each other. The election atmosphere is spreading across the campus.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamal Uddin said, “We have not received any complaints from yesterday (Tuesday) till today. The voting has started on time. Students are voting in a fair and smooth atmosphere.”
Earlier, voting began at CHAKSU today, Wednesday from 9:30 am and will continue till 4 pm. Students were seen standing in line to vote.
Voting is being held in a total of 60 rooms at 15 centers of the university’s Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Faculty of Engineering. According to the Chaksu Election Commission, the total number of voters in the Chaksu and Hall parliamentary elections is 25,521. Out of these, 16,084 are male voters and 11,329 are female voters.
