Night watchman hacked to death
A night watchman named Emran alias Nayan Babu (35) was hacked to death by miscreants in Palash upazila of Narsingdi. The incident took place on Tuesday (December 23) morning in Kenduab village of Danga union of the upazila. The deceased Emran is the son of Amir Islam of Kenduab village. He was a security guard at a local power loom.
According to the police and relatives of the deceased, the deceased Emran worked as a night guard at a power loom owned by Mustafa next to his house. He left the power loom at around 3 am to respond to the call of nature. He did not return to work after that. Around 5 am, another worker named Sifat came out and saw Emran lying in a bloody state in front of the power loom. Later, he was rescued and first taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. The doctor on duty there sent him to Dhaka for better treatment. He died on the way to Dhaka.
The deceased’s wife, Jyotsna Begum, has alleged that a friend of my husband’s named Kamal may be involved in this murder. A few days ago, he came late at night and threatened to kill my husband. Kamal was supposed to go abroad this afternoon. I think he killed my husband along with a few others. I want exemplary punishment for my husband’s killers. In this regard, Palash Police Station OC Shahed Al Mamun said that the deceased Emran was working as a night guard at Powerlam. After he went out to urinate at night, the miscreants hit him on the back of the head and left him in a bloody state. He later died on the way to the hospital. There are signs of a sharp weapon injury on his head. Legal action is being taken in this incident.
