Next testimony in the murder case of 6 including Anas in Chankharpul on August 20
The third day of testimony in the case of the murder of 6 people including Anas in Chankharpul in the capital during the July-August uprising has ended. The testimony ended before 3 pm on Wednesday (August 13).
Today, Shaheed Md. Yakub’s uncle Shahid Ahmed testified before the three-member International Crimes Tribunal-1 led by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumdar. Earlier, Yakub’s mother Rahima Akhter testified. Then Shaheed Ismamul Haque’s brother Md. Mohidul Haque testified.
Earlier, in the last two days, a total of 3 people including Shaheed Anas and Shaheed Junaid’s father and a college teacher have testified. All of them demanded proper trial and maximum punishment for those involved in the July massacre, including Sheikh Hasina, in their statements given to the court.
On the other hand, the hearing on the petition of the accused to be exempted from framing of charges in the case of killing 7 people, including burning one alive with 5 bodies, is underway at the Tribunal-2 headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury in Ashulia.
The hearing began at around 11:30 am today. The 12 accused arrested in these two cases were produced before the tribunal this morning.
