New Bangladesh – NCP on the streets for the constitution: Nahid Islam
National Citizen Party convener Nahid Islam said that his party NCP has taken to the streets for judicial reforms, a new Bangladesh and a new constitution. He said this at a march rally organized at the Central Shaheed Minar in Sylhet on Friday (July 25) afternoon. Commenting that Sylhet will be the new stronghold of the NCP, Nahid Islam said, Sylhet is not just an administrative district, it is an important source of Bangladesh’s history, culture and freedom struggle. Starting from the anti-British movement to the 1971 Liberation War and the July Uprising, Sylhet has always fought for Bangladesh with all its might. The NCP convener also highlighted the contribution of the people of Sylhet in the diaspora. He said, the country’s economy stands today on the sweat of those who are promoting Bangladesh in London. We want to ensure the voting rights of those diaspora and their participation in policymaking. Earlier, NCP leaders participated in the July march. The procession started from Chowhatta and after circumambulating various important roads of the city including Rikabi Bazar, it ended at the Central Shaheed Minar in Chowhatta.
