Netanyahu warns Iran

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that any Iranian move against Israel will be met with a very harsh response. He made the remarks at a joint press conference with the presidents of Greece and Cyprus on Tuesday (December 23). Iran International News reported this information in a report. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “We know that Iran has been conducting military exercises recently. We are monitoring the issue and are making the necessary preparations. I want to make it clear to Iran that the response to any move against Israel will be ‘very harsh.'”
Iranian state media reported that missile drills were conducted in various cities of the country on Monday (December 22). Tehran described it as a ‘defensive show of force’. The IRGC-affiliated Fars News reported that the drills were seen in Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Khorramabad and Mahabad. State television broadcast some of the videos, but later claimed they were not missiles.
Netanyahu said he would discuss Iran’s nuclear activities and regional threats with President Donald Trump during his visit to the United States. According to him, the “train of thought” between Israel and the United States on Tehran remains unchanged. Netanyahu is scheduled to meet Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on December 29. The US news outlet Axios reported that Israel has warned the US that Iran’s missile drills could be used to cover up preparations for a surprise attack.
However, US officials have said they see no signs of an immediate attack from Iran at the moment. Meanwhile, Iran has rejected Netanyahu’s allegations, saying the drills were not provocative. “Iran’s defense capabilities are not up for discussion,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai. But the Middle East could once again become unstable as Iran and Israel trade threats. The world is watching to see where this clash of military exercises and diplomatic warnings leads.
