NCP will not sign the July Charter
The National Civic Party (NCP), known as the main force of the July movement, will not sign the July Charter. Party convener Nahid Islam said this at a press conference on Thursday (October 16) morning.
Stating that there is no exemption in the July Charter, he said that the NCP will not participate in any drama without a legal basis.
Earlier, in response to questions from journalists after the meeting of the National Consensus Commission yesterday, Wednesday evening, party member secretary Akhtar Hossain said, “If the issues of implementing the July Charter are unclear to the nation, then what do we want to achieve by signing the July Charter; the future achievements will remain uncertain. That is why we have taken those issues into consideration whether we will sign the July Charter or not.”
