NCP upset after failing to submit 800 pages to EC: Farooq

BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Zainul Abdin Farooq said that the National Citizen Party (NCP) is upset after failing to submit 800 pages to the Election Commission for registration. He said this at a protest meeting against conspiratorial lies and propaganda against BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman organized by the Muktijoddha Dal at the National Press Club on Wednesday (July 16). Stating that the NCP is upset after failing to submit 800 pages to the Election Commission for registration, Farooq said, “They have failed despite submitting so many pages, now they are upset. Some extremist parties are also upset.” Stating that the NCP will not establish Jamaat in this country, Zainul Abdin Farooq said, “It will not happen if they just eat rice at the house of (former) DB chief Harun for a few days and go against BNP.” He said that a conspiracy is underway to postpone the election. If the interim government’s chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus goes along with Jamaat, the situation will be worse than that of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At that time, he also said that he apologized for what he said against Tarique Rahman. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (July 15), 144 new parties seeking registration, including the National Citizen Party (NCP), failed in the primary selection of the Election Commission (EC). The parties have been given 15 days to submit the missing documents to the EC. The concerned EC officials said that none of the parties could pass the primary selection. Therefore, letters are being sent to 62 parties in the first phase. And letters will be sent to 82 parties, including the NCP, in the second phase. Currently, the number of registered parties is 50.
