NCP reveals what was discussed in the meeting with the chief advisor
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) met the chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The meeting was held at the chief advisor’s residence Jamuna on Sunday evening (August 31). Later, NCP Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adeeb briefed reporters about the meeting in front of Jamuna. He said that even after a year of the coup, rehabilitation and security have not been ensured. There is a demand to ensure security. There is a demand to provide legal assistance to the expatriates who participated in the coup. Taking into account the report of the Missing Persons Commission, action has been called for against those involved in state institutions. State institutions have influenced the elections. Action has been called for against them. The chief advisor has been called for playing a role in maintaining the capacity and impartiality of the Election Commission, Adeeb said. The NCP has demanded the Constituent Assembly elections for the legal and constitutional basis of the July Charter. Regarding the Jatiya Party, he said that the Jatiya Party participated in the last 3 illegal elections to give them legitimacy. Their posters also had Awami League nominated candidates written on them. There is no difference between Awami League and Jatiya Party. The NCP has called for steps to be taken to suspend the activities of the Jatiya Party. Stating that it has been called to ensure that women can vote directly in 100 seats, the NCP leader said that it has been called to ensure that those who will turn 18 in February can also vote. Regarding the University Student Council elections, he said that the NCP has called for effective steps to be taken to conduct the University Student Council elections smoothly.
