NCP not getting Shapla symbol, alternative proposal to be sent

Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed has said that the National Citizens Party (NCP) is not getting Shapla symbol. He said that because Shapla is not in the list as a symbol. Therefore, the party will have to send an alternative symbol proposal.
He gave this information while talking to reporters at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon on Tuesday (September 23) afternoon.
Akhtar Ahmed said that the Shapla symbol is not in the list of 115 symbols of the EC. According to the rules, political parties have to take a symbol from the prescribed list. Therefore, if the NCP wants it, then they will have to choose another symbol.
He also said that the Election Commission’s continuous dialogue with the parties participating in the National Parliament elections will start from September 28. The schedule for this discussion will be determined step by step, considering puja and holidays.
Meanwhile, the NCP is adamant about the Shapla symbol. The party has asked for the allocation of Shapla symbol twice in its application for party registration. Even after the meeting with the CEC on Sunday, NCP leaders and activists have once again expressed their firm stance on Shapla.
