NCP leader’s body recovered from student dormitory in the capital

The hanging body of a young woman named Jannatara Rumi (30) has been recovered from a student dormitory under Hazaribagh police station in the capital. Her body was recovered from the fifth floor of the Jannati student dormitory located in Jigatola’s Old Kachabazar Road area on Thursday (December 18) morning.
Rumi was the joint coordinator of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) Dhaka Metropolitan South (Dhanmondi Police Station) Coordination Committee. Hazaribagh Police Station said that the body has been recovered and sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy. However, whether it was a suicide or murder is being investigated. Police initially said that Rumi was under mental stress due to family reasons.
