NCP convoy attacked on way back after rally, Gopalganj battlefield

The convoy of central leaders of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) was ambushed on the way back after a rally in the Municipal Park area of Gopalganj city. At the Chowrangi intersection in the district, the banned organization Chhatra League and the banned Awami League attacked from both sides, throwing bricks and stones. The army arrived at the scene and tried to repel the attackers. The police are also firing blank shots and throwing tear gas shells to disperse the attackers. Rubber bullets and sound grenades have also been seen being thrown. Meanwhile, the attackers have blocked various roads in Gopalganj with barricades. NCP leaders are trapped in various places. Among them, some vehicles of the NCP convoy have left for Dhaka-Khulna highway from Chowrangi intersection. It is not known who is in those convoys. Locals have expressed fear that they may also be attacked.
