Natore-1 BNP-Independent candidate supporters clash, 13 injured

An attack took place in Natore-1 constituency between BNP and independent candidate supporters. It is claimed that at least 13 people from both sides were injured in the incident. The independent candidate and his supporters immediately took out a protest procession in protest of the attack. The incident took place on Friday (February 6) night.
Independent candidate Taiful Islam Tipu alleged that around 7:45 pm, more than a hundred of his workers took out a procession in support of the ‘Kolsi’ symbol in Kachua Bazar. Paddy Sheaf supporters attacked the procession as it passed in front of the BNP candidate’s office. Three motorcycles were vandalized during this. 10 of his supporters were injured in this, 7 of whom have been admitted to the hospital.
On the other hand, Harunur Rashid Pappu, the chief election agent of BNP candidate Farzana Sharmin Putul from the same constituency, said that some of their supporters were sitting in the Kachua election office on Friday night. At that time, one to one and a half hundred supporters of independent candidate Taiful Islam Tipu from Salampur came to Kachua Bazar and started a procession. When the procession passed the office of Padna Sheesh, they attacked and vandalized the election office of the BNP candidate. At that time, Padna Sheesh and Tarique Rahman’s pictures were also vandalized. Three supporters of Padna Sheesh were injured in the attack.
Natore Additional Superintendent of Police Ifte Khair Alam said that there was a clash between the supporters of the independent candidate and the BNP candidate. As soon as the incident came to light, the police went to the spot. The locals detained one person, who was arrested by the police. The arrested person is a supporter of independent candidate Taiful Islam Tipu. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
