Narendra Modi mourns the death of Khaleda Zia
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief and condolences on the death of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. Today, Tuesday (December 30), Modi shared a condolence message with two pictures of her with Khaleda Zia on social media. Modi wrote in the post, ‘I express my deep grief on the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.’
Modi also said, ‘May Almighty God give her family the strength to bear this tragic loss.’ Modi also said that, ‘As the first woman Prime Minister of Bangladesh, she made a significant contribution to the development of the country and India-Bangladesh relations, which will be remembered forever.’ Sharing a picture taken with Khaleda Zia during her visit to Dhaka in 2015, Modi wrote, ‘That meeting is still memorable to me. May Almighty God grant peace to her soul.’
