Musk’s Starship crashed 10 minutes after launch

Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starship broke up just 10 minutes after launch. The Starship caught fire after losing contact with Earth on Thursday. This is the second Starship explosion this year.

After the Starship caught fire, debris began to spread into the sky. Flights in and around Florida were temporarily suspended.

Exactly two months ago, another Starship exploded in a similar way. This is being marked as the second failure of SpaceX, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump.

The 403-foot rocket was launched at 6:30 pm local time from Boca Chica, Texas. There were no problems in the first part of the launch. The booster successfully separated from the rocket and descended towards Earth. A crane caught it midway.

But within a short time, the rest of the Starship began to spin. Multiple engines stopped. “Unfortunately, the same thing happened last time. We’re getting a little bit of practice,” SpaceX spokesman Dan Huot said at a live event.

Musk had said he would accelerate his spaceflight program by 2025. The two failures could have a negative impact on that plan. In January, a rocket broke up eight minutes after launch. Its debris was seen falling over the Caribbean islands, causing minor damage to a car in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Elon Musk has announced plans to send humans to Mars by the end of this decade, and Starship is a key part of that plan.

The Federal Aviation Administration has asked SpaceX to investigate the incident to ensure it doesn’t happen again in the future.
