Mother and daughter die in house fire in Natore
A woman and her daughter died in a house fire in Gurudaspur, Natore. A person named Marjina Begum was rescued in a seriously burnt condition. The incident took place at around 3:30 am today (February 9) in the Jhaupara Binnabari area of Dharabarisha Union of the upazila. The deceased are Atia (28), wife of farmer Rantu of Jhaupara Binnabari area of Dharabarisha Union, and their one-year-old daughter Rowza.
Ataur Rahman, Station Officer of Gurdaspur Fire Service, confirmed the matter. He said that after receiving the information about the fire this morning, the fire service personnel quickly reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The mother and daughter died in the burnt condition. In addition, one person was rescued from the spot with serious injuries. Ataur Rahman also said that initially it is believed that the fire started due to an electrical short circuit. Four houses and a nearby grocery shop were burnt in the fire. Twelve goats also died in the fire.
