More than 4,000 supporters of Imran arrested.
A policeman was killed in a clash between supporters of imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan and security forces in Pakistan. Dozens of people were injured in the incident. Many supporters were arrested in the clash. Among them are five PTI members of parliament. Reuters reports.
A convoy of PTI leaders and activists reached the outskirts of the capital Islamabad on Monday, ignoring obstacles. At that time, they clashed with law enforcement forces in turns.
PTI leaders and activists have announced a gathering at D Chowk in Islamabad today. All entrances to the capital have been closed to prevent them. Section 144 has been imposed for two months. All types of meetings and gatherings have been banned.
Earlier, after Imran Khan asked the leaders and activists to hold nationwide protests demanding his release, leaders and activists across Pakistan faced police obstacles at various places while marching towards Islamabad. To prevent the protests, security forces declared a lockdown and barricaded highways in various cities. In addition, educational institutions in several places, including Islamabad, were also declared closed for a day.
Along with this, the patrols of riot police and paramilitary forces were increased and the main roads of Islamabad were blocked with shipping containers.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said, ‘Public transport in the eastern Punjab province was also stopped to prevent the protesters led by members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.’
According to reports in various international media, the Pakistani government cut off Islamabad from the rest of the country and shut down internet and mobile services in the country. Along with this, the police have also arrested more than 4,000 PTI supporters. Even then, the Pakistani government is unable to stop the flow of people towards Islamabad.
In this regard, Shahid Nawaz, the security officer for the eastern region of Punjab province, said that the police have already arrested more than 4,000 leaders and activists of Imran Khan. Five members of parliament are among those arrested.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said at a press conference, “Security measures have been taken to protect the residents of Islamabad and their property. More PTI leaders and activists will be arrested when they reach the red zone area of the city.”

Earlier, Gahar Khan held a meeting with Imran Khan for about an hour and a half at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. He said, ‘PTI founder Imran Khan has called this protest a ‘final call’. At the same time, the PTI chairman urged people not to listen to rumors of suspending the protest.’
Regarding this, Imran Khan has been in prison for more than a year. Despite more than 150 cases against him, the leader’s popularity is at its peak. His party claims that these cases are politically motivated. Imran Khan called for protests in the country and abroad on November 24. He called it a ‘final call’.
