More than 30,000 infected with dengue

In the last 24 hours, 432 more people have been infected with dengue fever across the country. With this, the number of dengue fever patients this year has reached 30,376. This information was given in a press release by the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (August 28). It said that among the patients admitted to hospitals due to dengue fever in the last 24 hours, 86 are in Barisal division, 70 in Chittagong division, 68 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 52 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 90 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 30 in Mymensingh division, 31 in Rajshahi division and 5 in Sylhet division. In the last 24 hours, 431 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. So far this year, 28,831 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. As of August 28 this year, 118 people have died of dengue. 30,376 people have been infected with dengue. Of these, 59.4 percent are men and 40.6 percent are women. From January 2024 to December 31, a total of 1,1,214 people have been infected with dengue and a total of 575 people have died from dengue. Earlier, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, while a total of 3,21,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue.
