Model Meghna Alam to contest from Dhaka-8 constituency
Popular model Meghna Alam will contest from Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. She gave this information in a post on her official Facebook page along with various development promises. However, it has not been confirmed whether she will be an independent candidate or contest for any party.
Meghna Alam’s Facebook post said that she has come forward with a pledge to establish Dhaka-8 constituency as the safest area for women in Bangladesh. Empty promises like ‘the country will be built like Singapore’ have been heard many times in the political history of Bangladesh. But in reality, to elevate a country to international standards, a leader is needed whose upbringing, thinking, education and social connections will have a global impact and who is naturally acceptable in the international arena. Meghna Alam is the real person, who represents not just promises but realistic transformation.
The post said that to ensure the safety of women, especially in Dhaka-8 area, a modern and effective special CCTV system will be launched, so that no woman is harassed or unwantedly touched while walking on the road. In addition, a special traffic management structure will be created in this area, so that people can walk and use bicycles safely. It said that, in the public interest, low-cost public washrooms (bathing and breastfeeding places, diaper changing places for children) and community laundry systems will be launched, so that everyone from slum dwellers to ordinary pedestrians or people walking in the park have the opportunity to stay clean. For this reason, if Meghna Alam becomes MP, the nutritional needs of the people of Dhaka-8 area, clean living and increasing social and legal knowledge will be given top priority, the Facebook post further mentioned.
