Missing old man’s body found in Ichamati

Police have recovered the body of an old man named Abu Syed (70) from the Ichamati River in Chittagong. The body was recovered from the Ichamati River on the west side of the food warehouse in Sadar Union of Anwara Upazila at around 9 am today, Wednesday (December 17).
Abu Syed is a resident of Abdur Razzak Chowkidar’s house in Pirkhain village of Hailadhar Union of the upazila. Eyewitness Minu Akhter said that she saw the body in the canal while taking out the cows in the morning and informed the police and later the police came and recovered the body.
Quoting the family, local UP member Md. Gias Uddin said that he went missing from his house a few days ago. His body was recovered today. In this regard, the officer-in-charge of Anwara Police Station Md. Junayet Chowdhury said that the body has been recovered. Legal action is being taken in this incident.
