Missing in the morning, body of the child recovered at night
Saima Akhter Saba, a 3-and-a-half-year-old child from Pobahti village in Jhenaidah town, went missing on Wednesday (December 3) morning. However, her body was found at a neighbor’s house around 10 pm that day. Police believe that the child Saba was murdered. It is learned that the child Saba is the daughter of Saidul Islam of that village.
Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station SI Manoj Kumar Ghosh confirmed the news and said that the child Saba went missing while playing around 8 am yesterday. The child’s father Saidul filed a GD in this incident. He said that after the GD entry, a search was conducted in a nearby pond in search of the child, but no trace was found till evening. The child’s body was found at Masud’s house in Pobahti village around 10 pm yesterday. Police suspect that she may have been killed in a planned manner.
The police official said that Shantana Khatun (30), the wife of neighbor Masud, has been detained for questioning. Meanwhile, the entire village has been in mourning after the body of baby girl Saima Akhter Saba was recovered. The villagers have demanded a proper investigation into the incident and the arrest of the real murderer.
