Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir: Lack of revolutionary organization is the main reason for political despair in the country
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘A revolution is successful only if there is an organization, but a revolution cannot happen without a revolutionary organization. The main reason for the political despair that has come to the country today is the lack of organization.’
He said these things at a condolence meeting organized at the Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy on Friday afternoon (September 19).
The BNP Secretary General said, ‘Today, those who want to make a revolution, those who want to change the society, those who want to change the condition of the common people, must strengthen that organization. They must strengthen it further. They must go to the people, only then will it be possible.’
At this time, he said, ‘I did not have the opportunity to talk much with Comrade Badruddin Umar. I went to Advisor Abrar’s house and talked to him for a long time.’
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Badruddin Umar never compromised with his ideals and struggle until the last day of his life. Today, those of us who are in politics have immense respect for him. Because he never compromised. And the new generation of people, I don’t know exactly how much they have been able to take from Umar.’
At the beginning of the condolence meeting, a minute’s standing ovation was given to pay tribute to Badruddin Umar. The Communist International anthem was played. A documentary was also shown at the condolence meeting. Mahbubullah, Comrade Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan, Dr. Akmal Hossain, Comrade Sajeeb Roy, Professor Sirajul Islam and others spoke at the condolence meeting.
