Mirza Fakhrul fears more killings ahead

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed fears that more killings could happen before the 13th parliamentary elections. He said, “Bangladesh’s enemies have resorted to killings again. We fear that more killings could happen ahead.” He said these words after paying tribute to the martyred intellectuals at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in the capital this Sunday (December 14) morning.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Through the elections, the people of Bangladesh are once again dreaming of a democratic Bangladesh. We will protect the country’s independence and sovereignty at any cost and protect democratic progress.” At this time, the BNP Secretary General pledged to foil all conspiracies and rebuild the country. He said, “The people of the country will achieve their democratic rights by foiling all conspiracies. Democratic progress will continue through holding elections on time.”
He further said, ‘We pay tribute to all those who gave their lives for the freedom and democracy of this country. We pay deep respect to the radical change that our leader, the founder of Bangladesh, the proclaimer of independence, martyred President Ziaur Rahman brought to this Bangladesh.’ BNP standing committee members, senior leaders and leaders of Dhaka Metropolitan and allied organizations were present at the time.
