Mirpur fire still not extinguished, says fire service official

Even after 24 hours, the fire that broke out at a chemical warehouse in the capital’s Mirpur has not been completely extinguished. Smoke is still coming out of the damaged building. The smell of toxic chemicals is in the air.
In such a context, Fire Service Assistant Director Kazi Nazmuzzaman visited the scene on Wednesday (October 15) afternoon. He told reporters that chemicals are dangerous; therefore, it takes time to put out the fire. It is not safe to enter the factory right now. In addition, it can be confirmed whether there are more bodies after the fire is completely extinguished.
At this time, Women and Children Affairs Advisor Sharmin S Murshid said that chemicals have been illegally stored in factories and chemical warehouses in Mirpur. The accused will be brought to justice quickly after the investigation.
Advisor Sharmin also assured that steps will be taken to remove illegal factories from populated areas.
