A Russian military cargo plane has crashed near the capital Moscow, killing seven passengers including the pilot. The incident took place in Ivanovo, near Moscow, on Tuesday (December 9), Tass News reported. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the crashed plane was an AN-22 military transport aircraft series. The aircraft of this series are used as cargo aircraft in the Russian military. The plane had some problems with its engine. After the malfunction was repaired, the plane was flown for a test flight. At that time, there were seven passengers including the pilot.
Shortly after taking off from a military airport, it crashed in an area of ​​the Ivanovo district. The distance from the capital Moscow to Ivanovo is 200 kilometers. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that the plane crashed in a deserted, uninhabited area. As a result, there is no risk of anyone other than the pilot and passengers being killed or injured. It was also said that the ministry has formed an investigative committee to investigate the exact cause of the plane crash. That committee has already started work.
