Military operation in Iran in final stages: Trump

US President Donald Trump said that the United States has almost reached the final stage of achieving its military operation in Iran. The operation is now in its final stages. He made this comment in an address to the nation on Thursday (April 2) morning, Bangladesh time. Trump said that it could take another two to three weeks to complete their military operation in Iran.
He said, “I am very pleased to report that we are very close to achieving our strategic objectives. In the last four weeks, our armed forces have achieved a swift, decisive and overwhelming victory on the battlefield. Such a victory in such a short period of time is rare.”
Trump claimed that Iran is very close to developing nuclear weapons. However, he did not present any evidence to support his claim. Trump also said, “I have said since 2015 that Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.” He alleged that the Iranians wish the death of Israel and the United States.
In 2015, former President Barack Obama made a deal with Iran. Under it, Iran agreed to reduce its uranium stockpile. In exchange, economic sanctions imposed on the country were eased. However, in 2018, Trump withdrew the United States from the agreement.
