Milestone Tragedy: DNA test identifies 5 bodies

The CID’s forensic DNA lab has identified the identities of the five victims who were killed and mutilated in the fire that broke out when a fighter jet crashed while training at Milestone School and College in Diyabari, Uttara, in the capital. This information was given by Special Superintendent of Police of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Jasim Uddin Khan on Thursday (July 24) afternoon. He said that the forensic department collected 11 DNA samples from the five bodies or remains that were mutilated in the plane crash in the last two days. The identities of the five people were identified a while ago. Details will be announced later. Those identified through DNA are Okia Ferdous Nidhi, Lamia Akhter Sonia, Afsana Akhter Priya, Raisa Moni and Mariam Umme Afia. Meanwhile, the government has requested the family members of the missing in this incident to provide samples for DNA matching at the CID building in Malibagh, the capital. The request was made in a government information bulletin on Wednesday (July 23). Meanwhile, parents are still searching for their missing children. They are shedding tears for their children in front of the main gate of the accident-hit school. Sometimes they are shouting and asking the school authorities to find their children. Sahabul Islam, father of Raisa Moni, a third-grader at Milestone School. Raisa Moni lost her life in the accident. Raisa died on the spot with almost complete burns. Raisa’s remains were taken to the CMHE. The body of her beloved child has not yet been found. In the meantime, another parent is claiming Raisa Moni as his child. The child’s physical appearance is familiar to him, so father Sahabul is also crazy about Raisa. Meanwhile, Afia’s mother does not know whether her child is alive or dead. Therefore, unable to enter the school, she is desperately praying for her child in front of the main gate. Concerned parents and students have been gathering at the school gate since early morning. The students who were lucky enough to survive the plane crash at Milestone School and College are haunted by painful memories. They will not play with their dear friends and classmates, they will not meet in the school grounds or during tiffin breaks. The teachers come to school in the morning. They are also in shock. Although the investigation committee formed by the school has started working to determine the list of casualties and the actual number of missing people, no one has spoken to the media. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that 33 people have died in the incident so far.
